Special Needs Ministry
Jesus welcomed all of those who approached him with sincere hearts. He did not see disabilities. He saw gifts given to him by a loving Father. The work of the Ministry with Persons with Special Needs continues to reach out to those with developmental delays, behavioral issues, and physical disabilities, seeking to include them in faith formation and parish life.
Members of this ministry seek to identify and welcome persons with special needs in their parishes. Some advocate for adaptations to the environment so that all can worship together. Others are involved in catechesis, instructing children with special needs so that they can receive the sacraments along with their peers.
The call to inclusion, long advocated in the Diocese of Rockville Centre, continues to be answered through this ministry. Why not become an advocate for inclusion in your own parish?
