This year’s Catechetical Congress promises once again to be exciting, enjoyable, and rewarding. The worship, keynote address, and many workshops will touch on every aspect of catechetical parish ministry.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]La Oficina de Formación en la Fe de la Diócesis de Rockville pone a su alcance este taller para asistir a párrocos, diáconos, líderes catequéticos, catequistas y a todas las personas involucradas en el ministerio parroquial para reflexionar acerca del panorama cultural en constante cambio en nuestras parroquias.

A medida que promovemos la comprensión y el aprecio por la rica diversidad cultural y las tradiciones religiosas étnicas que conforman nuestra Diócesis, este taller permitirá a nuestros participantes desarrollar competencias interculturales, respondiendo a estas preguntas frecuentes:

• ¿Qué necesito saber para acercarme a una parroquia multicultural?

• Recognizing the signs of anxiety and grief in youth and preparing to welcome them back and ministering to them in light of where they might be and what they may have endured as far as loss in its many forms.
• How do you identify the differences between normal and abnormal depression or anxiety?
• What are the warning signs to look for in youth?
• How has the pandemic contributed to existing issues, and how do we help youth transition back to normal routines?

Dr. Carolyn M. Yeager is a clinical psychologist in private practice and is an Associate Professor at St. Joseph’s Seminary, where she teaches Introduction to Psychology and Pastoral Counseling. Dr. Yeager has been working with The Sacred Heart Institute, the Dioceses of Rockville Centre, Brooklyn, and the Archdiocese of New York for over 30 years. She works with men in training for the Priesthood and the Permanent Diaconate, as well as ongoing formation for the newly ordained.
