To introduce participants to the basic principles of Catholic Christian morality and decision-making, how they apply to today’s moral issues
Course dates: March 12, 19, 26, April 2, 9 at St. Patrick’s Church. Classes will be held from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Emmaus Room. The Course on April 9 will be held in room 108.
Instructor: Mrs. Elaina Kedjierski, MA.
Cost: Free to St. Patrick’s Parishioners. Non-Parishioners: $10 per course for non-parishioners seeking certification.
These courses can be used for credit for the Basic Theology Certificate given by the Diocese of Rockville Centre. Attendance at all sessions in their entirety is required.

Participants will be introduced to sacramental theology and liturgical practice of the Roman Catholic Church. These courses can be used for credit for the Basic Theology Certificate given by the Diocese of Rockville Centre. Attendance at all sessions in their entirety is required. Highly recommended for Catechists, Catholic School Teachers and Parents, and any Interested Adult.

NFP is a Natural approach to FAMILY PLANNING. A couple who uses NFP understands the biology and theology of the body and can promote or postpone pregnancy. While all children are a gift from God, NFP permits a couple to responsibly limit family size, or postpone pregnancy, while fulfilling a couple’s duties to God, each other, their family, and society. A foundation for understanding the general principles of the Order of Christian Funerals. For the development and training of teams of lay ministers so they may provide the parish with a ministry of consolation.
Advanced registration is required by Sept 17.

Wear your finest costume or just your finest but do come and enjoy an evening of music, dancing, and snacking. There is no charge for this event, but reservations are necessary. Adults with special needs have been enjoying this Halloween treat for many years, thanks to the hospitality of Our Lady of Mercy Parish and the service of the young people preparing for Confirmation as well as the students from Our Lady of Mercy Academy.

Description: Bereavement Facilitator Training Part I- This 10 hour workshop is designed for the development and training of teams or individuals so they may provide the parish with a ministry to the bereaved. It is also ideal as enrichment for those who already serve in bereavement ministry. Facilitator training builds on the foundation for understanding the general principles of Bereavement Ministry. A certificate of completion will be given at the end of Part II of the training.
This course will instruct on: Role of Facilitator, Dynamics & Overview of Bereavement Process, Listening & Communication Skills, Grief Management Skills
