Connections, A Child and Family Bereavement Program @ Good Shepherd Hospice Administrative Offices | Brentwood | New York | United States

The Good Shepherd Hospice has an upcoming Child and Family Bereavement Program, CONNECTIONS.

This is an 8 week program developed for grieving children (ages 4-17) and their caretakers who have experienced a death of a loved one. Children engage in therapeutic activities that encourage emotional healing, increase understanding, development of healthy coping skills and preservation of memories. Adult caregivers attend their own concurrent support group, where they will learn about the nature of their children’s grief and how to best support them.

Ministry of Consolation Course Offering Level 1 - Fall 2019 @ Our Lady of Mercy Parish | Seaford | New York | United States

This course includes four sessions.

When: Thursday, September 26, Thursday, October 3, 17, and 24, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Where:  Our Lady of Mercy – 500 South Oyster Bay Rd. Hicksville, NY 11801

Instructor: Mary Alice Piil, CSJ.

Cost: $40.00 per person

This is a Level I course. Advanced registration is required.

A foundation for understanding the general principles of the Order of Christian Funerals. For the development and training of teams of lay ministers so they may provide the parish with a ministry
of consolation. Also ideal for new volunteers in existing ministry, this course will instruct on the methods of outreach to families at the time of death of a loved one.

Este programa está diseñado específicamente para personas de habla hispana y será facilitado por 3 especialistas de duelo bilingües. Este servicio es libre de costo. Se ofrecerá una cena familiar cada semana y habrá transporte disponible para los que lo necesiten.
