“The identification of and intervention for anxiety and depression in youth, especially in this time of pandemic lockdown and reopening.”

TOPICS WILL INCLUDE:

  • Recognizing the signs of anxiety and grief in youth and preparing to welcome them back and ministering to them in light of where they might be and what they may have endured as far as loss in its many forms.
  • How do you identify the differences between normal and abnormal depression or anxiety?
  • What are the warning signs to look for in youth?
  • How has the pandemic contributed to existing issues, and how do we help youth transition back to normal routines?

Associate Professor, St. Joseph’s Seminary

Dr. Carolyn M. Yeager is a clinical psychologist in private practice and is an Associate Professor at St. Joseph’s Seminary, where she teaches Introduction to Psychology and Pastoral Counseling. Dr. Yeager has been working with The Sacred Heart Institute, the Dioceses of Rockville Centre, Brooklyn, and the Archdiocese of New York for over 30 years. She works with men in training for the Priesthood and the Permanent Diaconate, as well as ongoing formation for the newly ordained. Dr. Yeager has been married to Dr. Raymond Yeager for 35 years, and they have 3 children ages 26 to 31.
