2012–2013 MINISTRY TRAINING

Liturgy Series: The Unending Symphony (Part IV)

Penance…the Sacrament of Continuing Conversion
Open to all Catholic Adults! (Previous enrollment in Liturgy Series not required.)

Our relationship to God is not exclusively nor primarily personal or individual. It is corporate and communal. Central to the life of the Catholic person, the Sacramental Life of the Church engages the whole person throughout the life cycle.

Prepare to enter more full into the penitential season of Lent, 2013 (Ash Wednesday is February 13 this year!).  Celebrate this Year of Faith along with Msgr. Andrzej and others adults seeking to deepen their understanding of the treasures of the Church.

In Part Four of our liturgical series, Msgr. Andrzej will unfold the gift of forgiveness as exercised in the Sacrament of Penance, how it has been expressed throughout our history and where it is today. We will examine the major shifts of society’s moral and theological understanding that have evolved since the Vatican II and how the celebration of the Sacrament of Penance can lead to a renewed perspective. Our study will also carefully trace the official teachings of the Catholic Church on the Sacrament of Penance as it is presented in the Catechism and Papal Doctrines.
