This five-week course will address the fundamental question of who Jesus of Nazareth was; and the implications for our understanding of God. How did the followers of Jesus comes to understand him as Lord and Savior?
Jesus was more than itinerant preacher from Galilee, a wisdom teacher and a miracle worker. The doctrinal formulations of Nicaea and Chalcedon in the fourth and fifth centuries A.D. tell us that Jesus Christ is “God from God, light from light, true God from true God.” How did these doctrines developed historically?
