Lent is coming. Here’s your CRS Rice Bowl update!
Lent begins with Ash Wednesday on February 26—less than a month away. We can’t wait to journey together and with the thousands of faith communities around the U.S. in this season of prayer, fasting and almsgiving.
This Lent, CRS Rice Bowl invites families and faith communities to meet three young women, Maria Ana from Honduras, Trinh from Vietnam, and Yvone from Kenya. Each week in Lent, we’ll learn something new about these young people—their opportunities for education, home and family life and their dreams for the future. Following Jesus’ example of feeding the multitude with a few loaves and fishes, Catholics in the U.S. can help feed millions of people around the world through CRS Rice Bowl this Lent.
For you, our CRS Diocesan Directors, we wanted to highlight a few resources and tools:
- crsricebowl.org is the go-to place to find resources that bring Lent to life. Find all the new resources for Lent 2020 there, available for download in English and Spanish.
- The diocesan page of the website has tools for communication and planning.
- The 2020 Media Kit has a toolbar to find helpful and easy-to-use resources like ads for diocesan papers and websites, social media posts, media releases and more!
- And finally, please remember that families and communities can still order their free CRS Rice Bowl materials—available in English and Spanish—to bring Lent to life in the parish, classroom and home.
