What to Expect When You’re Expecting a Baby with Down Syndrome (VIDEO)

Learn and spread the truth about children with Down Syndrome. Please share, like, and pass along this video to your friends and family.
We ourselves became a “Down Syndrome family” quite by chance. Nearly 27 years ago, the foster care agency with whom we were registered had a newborn baby with Downs who needed a home. They thought our house, filled with five noisy boys under the age of six, would provide the stimulation this little one needed to reach his potential.
Danny came to us when he was eleven days old. A month later he was freed for adoption and became a full-fledged member of the family. He was later followed by two other babies who had Down syndrome: John Francis and Maria Grace.
This little video tells our story, their story. We hope it encourages and inspires other parents to be open to the joys of loving and raising children with Downs. We join with so many others who see Down syndrome as a challenge, a difference, rather than as a disability. Perhaps it will soften your heart so that you too can say: Up with Downs!
