Over 100 Women Respond to Pope Francis: Join Us April 12

Pope Francis challenges us to reflect on what our baptism and call to be “missionary disciples” really means. The enthusiasm and controversy surrounding his recent exhortation, “The Joy of the Gospel,” Evangelii Gaudium, has inspired us to respond to this challenge. Join us as dozens of women of faith from across Long Island gather for an exciting day of prayer, study, reflection, sharing, and meeting new friends over lunch at the beautiful Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in Huntington, NY on Saturday, April 12.
There will be three powerful witness talks where Catholic women share their own real-life experiences of living the faith in the home and the marketplace. These talks follow the main presentation by Dr. Katherine Hayes, PhD.
Dr. Hayes is a Professor of Sacred Scripture at the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception. She received her PhD in Biblical Studies from The Catholic University of America. She is the author of “The Earth Mourns:” Prophetic Metaphor and Oral Aesthetic and of the forthcoming volume, Introduction to Wisdom/Proverbs in the New Collegeville Bible Commentary.
