October is Inclusion Awareness Month! Let’s Celebrate Together!

October is Inclusion Awareness Month.  The second weekend  has been chosen by Pathways Awareness Foundation in Chicago to celebrate the gifts shared by persons with disabilities in our churches.  Materials to help you celebrate can be found at the Inclusion in Worship website. There you can also read the letter from Bishop William Murphy encouraging all of us to express our gratitude to those with disabilities who serve in our parishes.  We continue to  break down the physical and emotional barriers to  inclusion.  Like the little faith community  who removed tiles from the roof so that they could lower their paralyzed friend to the feet of Jesus, we break down modern day barriers to inclusion. We follow the welcoming example of Jesus who  restored the paralytic to wholeness by celebrating the gifts and presence of those with disabilities among us!
