Echoes of Faith Catechist Training

A project of the National Conference of Catechetical Leadership, Echoes of Faith Plus is the most complete and widely used catechist resource ever developed. Volunteers from over 130 dioceses have been formed into ever more confident and capable catechists who have been enriched in their spiritual formation and knowledge of the Catholic faith.

Echoes of Faith DVD The Echoes of Faith Plus resource will provide you with historical background, solid content, resources, skill-building, and spiritual formation.
Echoes of Faith DVD Through a process of spiritual reflection, along with the companion book and DVD, the Echoes of Faith process will engage you through the use of image, story, information, and faith sharing.
Echoes of Faith DVD You will come to incorporate your prior knowledge of the content and learn to integrate the information and spiritual content so you may effectively share it in your ministry of catechesis.
Echoes of Faith DVD Both new and veteran Catechists are invited to attend as the Catechetical ministry is an ever un-folding encounter with Christ and the Church.
Echoes of Faith DVD You will receive a companion booklet with a CD-ROM included, yours to keep so you may review and reference the content information from the group sessions.

Topics covered with the Echoes of Faith Plus are:

  • Getting Started as a Catechist
  • Roles of the Catechist
  • Person of the Catechist
  • I Believe, We Believe
  • Liturgy & The Sacraments
  • The Scriptures
  • Prayer & Spirituality
  • Methodology (divided by grade levels: grades 1&2; grades 3 & 4;
    grades 5 & 6; grades 7 & 8)

When offered by the Diocese of Rockville Centre, each topic is covered in two sessions (2 hours each). They need not be taken in any particular order, but it is advised that a new catechist begin with “Getting Started as a Catechist” since this topic would be most helpful in ministry.
