2008 LITURGICAL CELEBRATIONS

We deeply appreciate all of the time and effort that went into the dances held throughout the diocese from the fall of ’07 through the spring of ’08. Special thanks go to Eileen Young (Our Lady of Mercy, Hicksville), Jeannette Murray (Our Lady of Mercy Academy), Cecelia Lerro and Barbara Massaro(Sacred Heart, North Merrick), Rose Shields and Donna Hare (St. Bernard, Levittown), Lou Ann Hanson (St. Joseph, Kings Park),  and Judith Brady (St. Frances de Chantal). The pastors of these parishes and all the workers, young and old, who helped give an afternoon or evening of fun to our adults with special needs are most appreciated. It is especially gratifying to see so many Confirmation candidates and members of Youth Ministry involved in theses dances. Thank you all!

Our first Disabilities Awareness Day on March first was a prayerful success. Judith Brady, Mary Buoneto and Maryann Rietschlin worked hard to make this event possible. The hospitality of Our Lady of Lourdes in West Islip, evidenced through Lori Walsh, provided a perfect setting for our Liturgy and Brunch.

The Diocesan Liturgy, celebrated by Bishop Paul Walsh, was a beautiful event!  Our thanks to him and to all who participated so beautifully and enthusiastically in this Liturgy celebrating the gifts of persons with special needs. St. Frances de Chantal in Wantagh hosted us for the Liturgy and the Hospitality which followed it. Thanks to you all!

Please watch this page for our new calendar of events. If you would like to host an event for next year, we would be more than happy to hear form you!
